Game Day at the Coliseum!

GAME DAY!

Today marks the last time the Trojans will march out into the Coliseum this season! For some, it will be their last.

Nothing is better than a Saturday night game at the Coliseum against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame!

While a lot of other important games with title implications are taking place today, our game is the MOST IMPORTANT!

Happy Thanksgiving!

On behalf of all of the Jimokes, I would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

The Trojans just were dismissed for the day, so they can spend time with their families. We are back tomorrow afternoon for the regular Friday walk-thru.

Cromwell it is!

Due to last night's heavy rain and today's rain that has been going off and on , the Trojan's football practice will be at Cromwell today. Howard Jones/Brian Kennedy Field is very wet and dirty right now, so conditions aren't prime.

Cromwell's FieldTurf will have to settle for today.

Storm Watch

With the weather forecasts predicting heavy rain for the next few days, the football team, staff, and the Jimokes are ready for anything.

If the practice field will be too muddy and not in pristine condition for practice tomorrow, we will move to Cromwell Field, the track and field stadium on campus, for our drills. Cromwell was FieldTurf, so the wet grass won't be as much as an issue compared to that of natural grass.

Back to the Daily Grind

After three days off of Trojan football, the team was back last night for meetings, and they are back with their regular schedule today. The players are coming in for their morning workouts, and back to practice this afternoon.

Notre Dame is next!

Spring Clean Up!

After practice today, the Jimokes will go through a "spring clean up" for the football program. Our two sheds we have out on the practice football field become very disorganized throughout the season, so the time has come to clean it up and throw away things that are unnecessarily in there.

We will also be in the locker room, and cleaning up all the lockers, while taking care of some apparel of the players.

Although spring cleaning is a rigorous task, once we are done, everything we work with everyday will much more organized and make our life a lot easier!

Hoping for UCLA Battle!

It is nearing that time again: the USC/UCLA crosstown rivalry, one of the greatest college football rivalries in the country.

But, the Jimokes of USC and the managers of UCLA are trying to get something together to play a game during Troy Week (the week leading up to the game). Our squad is desperately trying to get into contact with the UCLA managers to set something up.

We are all pumped for the possible match-up, and believe we are ready for the game. During the season, we have developed chemistry with each other, and know each other's tendencies, putting us in great position to compete with the kids from Westwood!

We will let you know in the coming weeks, if the showdown will ensue!

Back at It!

After the Monday off, and with the first bye week in two months, the Jimokes are back on the practice field today. With the day off, a number of Jimokes didn't know what to do with the extra time: we did a lot of productive things, but there was still plenty of time to do other things and lounge around.

El Cholo

Tomorrow night, the Jimokes will have a dinner together at El Cholo. The dinner will be a great time for all of us to eat together and we're excited to do it!

Monday Off!

After the great win on Saturday, Coach Carroll and Sarkisian decided to give the players a day off on Monday. The day off comes at a great time,  as everyone is ready for one. The Trojans have had eight gamed in as many weeks and are exhausted from it. After this week's bye week, we have two more rivalry games against Notre Dame and UCLA, and then the bowl game.

Travel Photos

During the trip, the Trojans boarded planes and went through security. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the traveling aspect from the weekend:

Back from Stanford!

The Trojans returned late last night after a big victory in Stanford! After a slow start, the Trojans took over down the stretch and manhandled the trenches, as they ran for almost 300 yards.

Pictures are coming soon!

Jimokes to Stanford

I am very happy to announce that 11 of the 12 Jimokes will be making the trip up to Stanford. Matt Burkhard, Benji Silva, Daniel Mai, and Brian Wagner will be flying with the team, while everyone else will be road trippin' up north!

The Jimokes will be represent well in Palo Alto, and it should be a good experience!

Equipment Truck Loading

Today, before practice, the Jimokes will load the equipment truck with all the trunks so it can head up to Stanford as soon as possible. The truck gets to the stadium site so early just in case there are problems and to bring the trunks into the visitor's locker room, before the team arrives.

The Day Before the Day Before

The Day Before the Day Before quickly approached us again, as it is Thursday on game week! Today will mark the last padded practice before the game on Saturday, while the Jimokes will do their Thursday ritual: Helmets and 7-Pad Check.

Only 3 Remain!

It is hard to believe, but college football's regular season is 75% completed, with only 3 games remaining for the Trojans (at Stanford, vs Notre Dame, and at UCLA)

It seems that the year has flown by, but don't get me wrong....:

THERE IS A LOT OF FOOTBALL LEFT TO PLAY, AND WHO KNOWS WHERE WE WILL END UP FOR OUR BOWL GAME?

Another Game Week

The Trojans are now approaching their 8th game week in a row as we begin to prepare for Stanford! After the bye weeks we had in September, we are going through an eight week span of consecutive games.

Winning California-Style

Yesterday's victory came at a good time, and really had our defense on display. The Trojans shut down an explosive Cal offense, and the Jimokes had a great time at the Coliseum. Now - just one home game remaining until the end of the season. Here are some pictures of yesterday's contest!

Game Day with California!

Yesterday was another game day for the Jimokes, as the USC Trojans' defense dismantled the Cal offense en route to a 17-3 victory, pulling away and putting them into contention for another Pac-10 championship! We will have pictures momentarily documenting yesterday's contest!

Jimokes for a Day

Yesterday's practice had an unusual twist to it: The Jimokes had some guest appearacnes. Paul and Beth Brady won the oppurtunity in an auction at the Jimmy V Foundation. They thouroughly enjoyed their experience, as they helped us set up the practice, shag balls, helped Mark Sanchez "pick the peaches", and got to talk to Coach Carroll after practice. All they have now is their memories and their "yellows".

Jimokes for a Day

Not only is tomorrow the regular Jimoke Thursday, meaning helmets and 7-pad check will be completed, but we have some special guests.

We have Paul and Beth Brady, this year's winners for the Jimmy V Foundation "Managers for a Day" auction coming to work with the USC Jimokes. Our student team will take them in and show them the backbone of USC Football, as they will essentially do everything we do, from setting up the field, shagging balls, catching punts, spotting balls, getting game balls ready to closing down the field and locking it up for Friday.

We will have a special report tomorrow following practice with this special moment for all of us!

NO Turnover Wednesday

The theme of today's practice had special emphasis among the Jimokes. Since there were no turnovers throughout the week so far, we have a "No Turnover Wednesday" instead of a "Turnover Wednesday". Some informal bets were placed among the Jimokes today regarding the theme:

A few of the offense Jimokes (Matt Burkhard, Daniel Mai, Brian Wagner) bet that the offense wouldn't commit a turnover in today's bigger periods: 9 on 7, 7 on 7, and Team period. We bet Brent Cochran and Eloy Ledesma, who represented the defense. Today's bet was a little controversial because on one play it seemed to be a fumble, the coaches had just ended the play with a whistle, blowing the play dead, and not committing a turnover.

The terms of the trade: Tomorrow's dinner at the Galen Dining Hall will be brought to Matt, Daniel, and myself by Brent and Eloy, with drinks and everything included. They will be in charge of servicing our every need for the whole dinner.

Just another way to have a good time around USC Football.

Congrats

On behalf of the USC Jimokes, I want to congratulate Barack Obama for becoming the 44th President of the United States! A historical election took place last night, and it felt good to be a part of it.

Under the Lights

Today's "Tell the Truth Monday" Practice was the first practice of the regular season where the lights were put on, creating a fun practice environment for everyone. The rest of the practices of the season will have this feel, with only five games remaining in the entire season! (including the bowl game)

More Pictures!

Here is a continuation of the photos with some quick shots of "game-time" action:

Washington Beatdown

The Trojans were able to stay focused and play a complete game on Saturday with a lot of younger players getting a lot of reps and making the best of them. A 56-0 win is convincing, regardless of the skill of the team. (Washington is win less this season).

While you bask in this victory, here are some spectacular photos from yesterday's game:
